What is the
TEXAS MEDICAL DEVICE ALLIANCE?
The Texas Medical Device Alliance (TMDA), previously known as the Medical Device Action Group, was founded in February 2009 and is based in Austin, Texas. The organization was established to support medical device entrepreneurs who had a need to network with peers and build synergy with the medical community, other biotech entrepreneurs, academia, and medical device industry service providers.
The primary objective of the Alliance is to help create an infrastructure that provides all elements necessary for the successful creation, development, production, and distribution of end-user medical devices. In a phrase, the objective of the Alliance is to:
“Provide support from idea conception to patient care implementation.”
The Texas Medical Device Alliance (TMDA) objectives include hosting quarterly meetings featuring service-oriented presentations as well as networking opportunities and happy hours. TMDA membership has grown substantially from 35 members, since inception in 2009, to over 2,000 today.
The TMDA also curates monthly newsletters serving the industry and offers sponsorships to support complimentary events and memberships. All critical segments of the medical device community are represented, including start-ups to established organizations, entrepreneur-physicians, scientists, biotech engineers, academicians, investors, medical technology service providers, IP attorneys and many more!
We work together to bring the life science community together to create communication, collaboration, innovation, sustainable growth and investment. Learn more about our mission to build our community.
