The Texas Medical Device Alliance (TMDA), formerly known as the Medical Device Action Group, was founded in February 2009. At that time, 35 individuals from the medical device community in Texas came together to discuss how to build a viable medical device industry that could rival other similar industries around the nation. Effective April 2011, TMDA became a non-profit corporation, organized under the Texas Business Organizations Code. The mission of TMDA is to help medical device companies become and remain successful in Texas.
Participants in TMDA meet quarterly to support networking among participants and host feature presentations that address critical issues such as certification, regulatory compliance, clinical trials, reimbursement, and other informative topics. Participants include members of the medical community, biotech industry, academia, the investment and legal communities, and municipal organizations.
